The Verdict

officer6 and officer8 had both been 'charged' with Neglect of Duty;

that on Night Duty Saturday 22nd / Sunday 23rd August, 1987, they did neglect their duty in that they failed to discover an insecure property on their patrol area, namely the Premises known as 'The Railway Station' Mangrove Bay Road, Somerset.

Contrary to Section 4(a) Force Standing instructions A/2

The Englishman, officer6 had maintained his innocence throughout and it was he I was representing.

The Bermudan officer, officer8, had entered a plea of 'guilty', he had admitted the offence.

BOTH officers were subsequently found:

NOT GUILTY
